People ask me this all the time. The answer is simpler than you think.
Consistency beats frequency
Posting every day for a week and then disappearing for a month does nothing. Posting 2-3 times a week consistently works much better.
What to post:
Share things you actually know about. Industry insights. Lessons from your work. Problems you’ve solved. Mistakes you’ve made and what you learned.
You don’t need to be an expert. You just need to be helpful.
Engagement matters more than posting
Here’s something most people miss: commenting on other people’s posts often gets you more visibility than your own posts.
Leave thoughtful comments. Add something to the conversation. People will check out your profile.
Don’t overthink it
Your posts don’t need to go viral. You’re not trying to become a LinkedIn influencer. You just want the right people – hiring managers, recruiters, potential clients – to see that you know your stuff.
A simple plan:
Post twice a week about something you learned or observed in your industry. Comment on 5 posts per day in your field. Do this for 3 months and see what happens.
The algorithm rewards people who show up regularly. Show up.
